Alabama's senior appellate judge considers retirementH.W. "Bucky" McMillan Alabama's longest serving appellate court judge, is considering retiring from the state Court of Criminal Appeals rather than seeking another term. McMillan said Monday there are several good reasons for him not to run again this year, and a few good reasons to run. The Republican judge said he will make up his mind quickly because Friday is the qualifying deadline for this year's judicial elections. The 53-year-old judge has served on the Court of Criminal Appeals for 24 years.
