Is
there political infighting in Washington? Is there not enough bi-partisan
leadership in Washington among Republicans? Well this Republican thinks so and
suddenly resigns from the mess in Congress.

Rep. Steven LaTourette of Ohio, a nine-term lawmaker and a close confidant of
House Speaker John Boehner, has decided not to seek re-election.
Ohio
Republican Party Chairman Bob Bennett said Monday night that LaTourette had
told him that he wouldn't be a candidate in November. LaTourette also held a
news conference on Tuesday to say that he is quitting congress and will not run
to re-election.
This
move comes within 97 days of the General Elections, which means a little over
three months before citizens of Ohio go to the polls and vote their choice of representation.
Congress
right now have the lowest approval rating in American history.
LaTourette
was elected to Congress during the GOP wave in 1994 when the party seized
control of the House after decades in the minority. He is a member of the House
Appropriations Committee.
LaTourette joins more than three dozen House members who have decided not to seek another term or to pursue another office. Forty-three Republicans and Democrats have decided to leave the House, and nine lawmakers have lost in primaries.
