Some Birmingham city council candidates think the “Let’s Do Something” Langford is a good visionary for the city

On Thursday night Birmingham City Council candidates attended a forum at the Rogue Tavern. Then suddenly a voter asks the candidates to tell them something positive about the mayor. Johnathan Austin, who was appointed to the District 5 seat last year and seeking a first full term, was up first. I wonder why he was up first you’ll? "He's an absolute visionary, and he is something that we definitely needed in Birmingham in order to move a lot of these projects forward." Austin said.

You remember I wrote some comments about this gentleman on Monday, August 17, 2009 informing you that he is a yes man to the mayor and his agenda. Austin shares the vision of the mayor just in case you’ll don’t get it yet.

Robert Walker a candidate seeking the District 4 Council seat calls the mayor the best salesman. Hey Robert maybe you are right, the mayor sells a lot of lies to get what he want and to influence someone to share his vision. A "Catalyst" is what Yawntreshia Coleman called Langford at the forum on Thursday night; look she had something else to say. He makes people stop being stagnant and do something, and even if he rubs you the wrong way, he can make people do stuff -- get out their seats and do stuff, That's what I appreciate about our mayor." Carol was the final candidate to make her way to the mic on last evening. “He doesn't like being asked to prove things," and explaining that she likes to be shown things. It's been a mixed bag for me -- a bag of vision, fountains, suspended from federal contracts," Duncan said. She also said “It takes the council sometimes to tie him to a chair and make sure that he doesn't do a lot of different things that maybe shouldn't be done for the city."

Councilwoman Carol Duncan is confused she agrees with Hendricks that a vision shalled be shared and then she also believes in Larry Langford, so where does she really stand? With the citizens of this city or with an indicted mayor that seems not to get it, we are ready to move on without him in our presence. Duncan is facing a tough challenge from Kim Rafferty and former staffer of Carol Duncan at City Hall, wow! This is going to interesting on Tuesday evening when the results come in.

Carol Duncan you need to really sit down and retract and rethink on the words that you say honey. Because if you as a councilwoman would stop some of the wasteful spending of Birmingham citizen tax dollars may be wouldn’t be doing so many different things. And you’ll have not done a good job to tie the mayor to his seat Mrs. Duncan. I am still predicting a run-off in this race for District 2 as several other races in the city.
